About Mission Energy: Mission Energy serves nonprofits’ best interests by advising, designing, developing, financing, and managing the construction of turnkey clean energy, storage, and efficiency projects that advance their mission. We work to empower any nonprofit organization to implement and benefit from clean energy projects. Our Project Management team oversees the implementation of our projects by working with partners, investors, clients, and subcontractors to create and install high-quality, on-time, on-budget projects for all our stakeholders. Our projects are rooftops, ground mounts, and carports across the nation ranging in size from 100kW – 3MW, typically 250-1,000kW.

 

About the Role: The Project Manager role will own each project – schedule, scope, and budget – from contract signing to final completion. In addition to project management, the role requires solar engineering, design, and construction management expertise (Distributed Generation), transparent and frequent communication, a high level of organization, schedule management, experience managing development-to-construction budgets, and reviewing and editing contracts. Success in this role is largely defined by advancing projects through development and construction on time and on budget. This role reports to the executive-level lead for construction and works closely with team members to deliver successful project development, installation, and completion.

Your background and skills include:

  • At least five years’ experience project managing distributed generation solar projects

  • PMP or similar certification

  • Experience developing and managing line-item project budgets and schedules

  • Electrical engineering experience preferred

  • NABCEP Certification or equivalent experience preferred

  • Experience using Microsoft 365 –Word, Excel, PowerPoint

    • Preferred: SharePoint/ Dropbox, Slack, Zoho Projects, Microsoft Project

  • Can communicate effectively and are skilled at identifying solutions to complex development and construction timelines

 

Responsibilities include:

1.      Manage schedule, scope, and budget for all assigned projects

  • Internal owner for each assigned project, with full authority and responsibility

  • Manage every detail of the project from contract signing through final completion

  • Communicate with all stakeholders, including the client, subcontractors, investors, utilities, AHJs, and the Mission Energy team

  • Manage subcontractors to ensure required work gets done with a high level of quality on schedule and budget

2.      Construction Administration

  • Utilize project management software – familiarity with Zoho Projects preferred

  • Review documents, submittals, and drawings for accuracy and to identify potential risks or barriers to project completion, e.g., engineering data, blueprints, material data sheets, product specifications, title and survey documents

  • Process contract adjustments via change orders and other contract amendments

  • Prepare and manage project schedules

  • For projects with third-party investors, complete all investor-required items for each payment milestone

  • Review draft and final contracts to assure delivery of expectations and requirements

  • Occasionally: manage equipment procurement process

3.      Construction Management

  • Manage project start-up and ongoing construction management

    • Be the primary contact from Mission Energy to all EPCs/subcontractors

    • Track and ensure each required detail of the project is completed, even as requirements shift over the course of the project

  • Lead each project so that it is on schedule and on budget

    • Leverage proactive and diligent communication to drive results

    • Build long-term partner relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and investors

    • Ensure all stakeholders understand and follow plan and layout

  • Project Documentation and Document Control

    • Maintain files for subcontractors in cloud folders such as Microsoft SharePoint

    • Manage document transfer from contractor to investor folders

    • Review documents for accuracy and required specifications

    • Assure installations per plans and specs, and verify completion

    • Help ensure subcontractors are maintaining the as-built drawings

    • Assist in creating the project punch list 

  • Support the team to secure project incentives for federal and state-level incentive programs

Location and Travel Requirements

·      This is a remote position

·      Some travel to manage and inspect projects sites is required

 

Compensation

·      $100,000 - $140,000 base + company bonus
